  1. You need to add that "at that moment" onto the end of that comment. Because Trump, DeSantis, and all the populists are fundamentally OPPORTUNISTS. They all fall into the line of "never let a crisis go to waste" or "never let an opportunity slip by." There's a really great interview that Jesse Ventura did with Breaking Points (Krystal & Saagar) a few months ago. He related a story about his first foray into commentating. He'd been injured and couldn't wrestle so Vince McMahon put him on the commentary team. Jesse had zero experience in commentating, so Vince McMahon gave him a very simple instruction. "If you say it its true." The gloves are off and you can say whatever you like so long as your character believes its true. Basically McMahon told him that truth, facts and reality have nothing to do with pro wrestling or commentating on it. What Jesse was saying is that Trump took that concept into politics. Now people like DeSantis, Marjorie Taylor-Greene, George Santos,... etc. are doing the same thing. They do not care about what happened 5 minutes ago or what is known fact. They will simply say whatever they think will excite their base.
