After getting clean and becoming quite religious he became the governor Texas before becoming America's 43rd President. He not only illegally invaded another country (Iraq) in violation of international law he convinced other countries to join in. That resulted in at least 170,000 innocent civilians dying and by some estimates over 1,000,000 innocent civilians dying in the ensuing violence. Neither George W Bush nor any of the others involved have ever been investigated let alone charged or been held accountable in any way over the invasion of Iraq or any of the atrocities that followed. Notably one of the main protagonists in that, John Bolton, is these days travelling the world freely under the protection of a US Diplomatic Passport.

You've just pointed out the biggest issue in the world right now. The lack of accountability of for the world's political and business leaders. Trump isn't the worst, but he's certainly the loudest. Think back to the aftermath of the 2008 GFC. How many of the CEOs responsible were held accountable? There's a PBS Frontline about that. Lanny Breuer the DOJ's lead prosecutor under Eric Holder actually says they had economic reasons for not pursuing the CEOs but brags about the more than 3000 underlings they prosecuted. Its farking amazing to hear the Assistant director of the DOJ claiming that economics outweighs justice. I'm Australian and we ended up having a Royal Commission into our banks. We found widespread systematic theft, money laundering and tax evasion. We had people confess it. NOBODY has ever been charged let alone sent to jail. There were the Panama Papers on industrialised tax evasion. The world said "We got them!" but nobody went to jail. Then came the Paradise Papers on industrialised tax evasion.
