Not saying she didn't but I don't remember her defending Assad. I kind of took that meeting as "she was willing to go meet difficult people face to face in difficult circumstances." I actually had her marked as a potential Sec State after that because she was willing to go to a difficult place and meet face to face with difficult people. But right now - ABSOLUTELY NOT. We can all excuse lots of people for lots of stuff but excusing Vladimir Putin for the chaos he's causing is brainlessly idiotic.
