  1. You are on the money there. Wen the first rumors (conspiracies) started a bunch of experts explained WHY it WASN'T a weapon. The main reason was that nobody really has the technology to make a "targeted" bioweapon. That's to say nobody has the skill set to make something that specifically targets certain populations. BUT in dismissing the bio weapon scenario they also (at least) down played all the other possible lab leak scenarios. that's what I am angry at. What's surfaced in recent weeks are other possible lab leak scenarios. We never got to discuss them because POLITICS took over and then it got dragged into the culture war. What we can now say is the culture war now has real casualties.
