  1. I'm an aerospace engineer welcome to the club of people who know how full-of-shite Elon Musk is. There's literally 1000s of engineers and scientists who have been trying to tell the world he is not some techno messiah who's going to take a chosen few to the promised land on Mars. What he is (and many underestimate this) is an extremely good promoter of technology to the technically illiterate. Several of his techno companies have failed and failed spectacularly and yet even to this day his fans deny they were failures. Most notable in that group are Hyperloop, the Tesla truck and Suncity. SpaceX on the other hand has been a fantastic success and that's a long explanation if you're interested. But then he lucked out with SpaceX by getting a team of incredibly talented people at just the right moment in space flight history. He was also assisted in the abysmal failures of some other programs. Tesla (the cars) are an amazing achievement. Although Elon had NOTHING to do with the foundation of the company it is only what it is now because of Elon's promotional skills. Again, like with SpaceX, Elon was very lucky with timing. Tesla was a company founded by some very smart people who had solved most of the technical issues well before Elon arrived with cash and bravado. With Twitter however he might just have finally let his mouth go too far.
