After the 2000 election that Al Gore lost via a SCOTUS decision that DID NOT follow the legal procedures for recounts on narrow elections an Australian observer commented that that the Republican view was, "If we win it was fair. If we lose it wasn't." That was 20 years ago. FYI - I'm Australian but went to college in America on a scholarship. I love the place, I love the people and it grates me just what they have done to America over the last 30+ years. And yes I know Rupert Murdoch is one of ours and we will never be able to apologize enough for what he's done BUT we tried to warn you what he was like. We all saw the Trump interview on fake news a few years back where he stated that his intent was to destroy all opposing media and get people to the point where they simply would not believe anything opposing news services said. What Murdoch and Trump have done is totally destabilize Western Democracies EVERYWHERE with this Orwellian garbage.

@michaelwaninger3155 That's always puzzled a lot of non-Americans. I'm Australian but went to college in America. Like many I know that Jeb Bush used an obscure Florida law that allowed the Governor to remove felons from the voting roles. I also know that one of his staffers used a very lose set of parameters to dump around 10,000 people many of whom were NOT felons off the voting rolls. They did stuff like just matching a surname to a street or area code. They didn't actually match full names to specific addresses. It allowed them to dump a lot more people from the rolls and in particular African Americans. Last I ever heard was that staffer was being pursued for civil rights violations but I have never heard how that turned out. So yeah even in Oz we heard about HOW they did it but never heard about what finally became of the people involved. I sort of suspected that Gore may have had some funny foreign money in his campaign which was rumored and that was used to get him to shut up. I did hear that a professor who did a comprehensive analysis of the data found Core would have won by something like 170 votes but that's so small an amount any sensible error analysis should discount it or at least question it. I doubt we will ever know the real truth about that whole mess. And even if we did what difference would it make now. 🤷♂️🤷♀️
