  1. Republicanism is now the world standard for hypocrisy. They howl and scream about culture wars and yet they throw culture bombs incessantly. They scream about freedom and democracy as they strip other people of their freedom and democracy.

  3.  @edwardmiessner6502  It might surprise many Americans but all through the cold war America sponsored Coups to overthrow democracies. Among the notable examples are Iran and Chile, but there was also Guatemala, Indonesia and most recently Iraq. Yeah Saddam Hussein was democratically elected. Yeah they may have been very dodgy elections but he still was elected. Americans have a very skewed version of what democracy is. I'm Australian bit went to college in America and was there during a Presidential cycle. BY EVERY OTHER STANDARD America's view of democracy is skewed. Its almost impossible to describe how different it is. This thing where each state has its own rules for federal elections is bizarre by every other standard. Its the duality of American politics that confuses the crap out of everyone. "One nation under God" except when electing leaders and then its 50 separate states doing their own thing.
