WHY are you surprised? I'm Australian but went to college in the late 80s. I was there during the election season when they elected Bush V1.0 and it was bonkers. There was a bonkers sex scandal with a guy named Gary Hart. I came back to Australia after graduating, but the whole world got to see the even more bonkers affair of Bill Clinton and Monica Lewinski. Do you know that crap affected stock markets around the world because NOBODY knew what was going to happen. After that we got Bush V2.0 and again the whole world go to see the bonkers of what happened in Florida and again it affected stock markets all over the world. After that we got to see the whole Obama "where was he born" nonsense FOR 8 YEARS. At what point after all that do you think the rest of the world was surprised Trump became President. You guys even mad a film called Idiocracy and we still don't know if that was a spoof or a documentary!
