  1. I'm Australian but went to college in America. I had a fantastic time and I have many great memories of my time in the states. So it greatly saddens me that so many people have sat back and let Trump get away with so much. I honestly believe the vast majority of Americans are decent people and that even included many of the Trump supporters who have simply been sucked into this catastrophe AND I DO SEE THIS AS A CATASTROPHE. You can blame or thank my college friends but I genuinely believe the US Constitution is one of humanities greatest achievements because it threw off a lot of the baggage from previous cultures, BUT AMERICA has to not only believe in the US Constitution they have to actually care about it and maintain it. A few years ago I was stunned to find out that civics had been defunded in pubic schools. I think one of the major reforms Australia needs is to do an Australian version of the old American civics system, BECAUSE I SAW THE EFFECT IT HAD. American's used to (past tense) be able to say "We are the greatest country" AND THEN EXPLAIN WHY because in part they understood what their constitution is, how it works and what that does for them. I wonder how many Americans can do the same now?
