Science & Engineering provides the electricity people use, the cars they drive, the water they drink and pretty much everything else they own or use in the modern world except for authentic native arts & crafts. We even take away societies sh*t after its flushed and deal with it. Most people find any of that too inconvenient to think about. They prefer to know which celebrity cheated on their partner and humped which sports star before writing their next song about it. In answer to where are the aliens? They are too busy building a force field around the entire solar system to make sure Elon and the rest of the clownbots never get out and trash the rest of the universe.
