  1. You've made the most important distinction there is - the difference between people who check and think and those who don't. I've just in a conversation with an idiot over on a thread on a Kyle & Krystal piece about Jon Stewart schooling a misinformation expert. The idiot who commented back to me said (in part) "kyle trying to put down a health expert in his title shows his hypocrisy about misinformation". The health expert he was referring to is Dr. Joan Donovan who Jon Stewart interviewed. It took me only seconds to check that Dr. Joan Donovan is NOT a medical doctor but a professor at Harvard. Putting her name into google and the first link was to her home page at Harvard Kennedy School where she's the Research Director of the Shorenstein Center on Media, Politics and Public Policy. Arguably one of the biggest issues in the world right now is the incredibly high percentage of society who just accept whatever is convenient as fact. That's not a problem with those on the right or the left, its a problem across all of human society.
