This is incredibly typical of people who are presenting a CONSTRUCTED NARRATIVE. Once it gets exposed as a manufactured thing rather than fact there's not much they can do except double down by making an even more outrageous claim. When that gets exposed they just double down again. Its not just specific to conspiracy people its common to anyone who has convinced themselves of a false narrative. Just last night I saw a documentary on the mass suicide at Jonestown 1978 and its the same sort of thing. Every time Jim Jones was exposed he just doubled down on the claims until it got to the point where they all drank the cool aid. Go back to 2003 and the invasion of Iraq. Every time one of the claims about WMDs was disproven then the Bush Whitehouse just doubled down on an even bigger claim. Rumsfeld was notorious for it. Look at all of the nonsense about the moon hoax. I'm an aerospace engineer and every time someone answers something the clowns double down. On other aerospace matters I can explain if you want how the claims of Chinese Space Lasers and hypersonic missiles are mostly BS but the hype merchants just hype it up harder anytime someone points out the realities of that stuff.

@Youtoober6947 Its a reference to what happens when the conspiracy clowns take things too far. I would slightly modify the reference from "every time" to _"every time they are allowed to go too far."_. The Germans had lived with a Jewish part of their population for centuries. Sometimes in conflict but most of the time NOT. Then one day as had happened before someone blamed them for the troubles they had. The difference was during the 1930s and 40s they let it get completely out of control and that's the dangerous thing. I'm actually Australian but went to college in America. From all my experiences with Americans I'd never have thought I'd see an enraged mob try and tear the Capital to the ground running through the corridors chanting to "hang the vice president." Yeah sure I there's always been a part of America that's bonkers but EVERY society has them and most of the time they are contained or limited. Right NOW they are neither contained or limited and in fact have some ruthlessly sociopathic people winding them up as much as they can, which is extremely dangerous because at the end of the day America can by itself break the world's economy and then back it up with nukes.
