TO ALL: The graph David shows is here -> https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/usa/texas/ Just above the graph David shows is the cumulative graph. If you put your mouse on the ORANGE line you can see the cumulative number day by day ON March 2, 2021 the Texas Death toll for COVID-19 was 44,474 ON April 2, 20021 the Texas Death toll for COVID-19 was 48,850 an increase of 4,376 ON May 2, 2021 the Texas Death toll for COVID-19 was 50,567 an increase of 1,717 As of May 31 the Texas Death toll for COVID-19 is 51,727 with 12 more Texans dying yesterday. The sources for that data include the Texas Department of State Health Services. There might be Republicans who believe in science but Lauren Boebert DOESN'T BELIEVE IN MATH

Well unfortunately the last country to ever have qualification requirements for public office in a democracy was ancient Athens where you first had to be a citizen before you could vote or hold office. The late great Isaac Asimov summed it up best: “There is a cult of ignorance in the United States, and there always has been. The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.” ― Isaac Asimov, News Week, 1980.

@s.a.2317 Nice way to demonstrate avoidance of the topic, "whataboutism" and deflection all in 1 comment. Your grade school teacher must be so proud!!!!!!!!! I don't think Biden is the guy who is going to magically save America from itself, BUT AT LEAST HE FINISHED high school and then college and then law school.

@tlhamp0 You are absolutely right. A while back I checked on Ted Cruz's background and was amazed at what I found. -> https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ted_Cruz#Education It might be dismissible that he was valedictorian of is high school, but you don't finish cum laude at Princeton and then magna cum laude at Harvard Law unless you are seriously smart. To get those honors you have to finish in the top part of your class. During that time he was a world class debating champion and represented America at the 1995 World Championship as part of team from Harvard. Simply put Ted Cruz is incredibly well educated and seriously damn smart. If you follow the links you can even get to a PDF that's a photocopy of his Princeton Senior Thesis that's all about the 9th & 10th Amendments. After law school he didn't just clerk for normal judges he ended up clerking for William Rehnquist SCOTUS Chief Justice. Its actually amazing that someone with that level of intellect and that level of education, behaves the way he does. So you assessment at least on Cruz is 100%

@emm8357 Somebody else put it in a quote a while back. I like it because Asimov's also one of my favorite authors. I have a slightly updated version because I think what he said can be applied to any country maybe some more than others. So I generalized it. “There is a cult of ignorance within humanity, and there always has been. The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that ignorance is just as good as knowledge.”

@MIKAEL S1 No its simply impossible to fake those kind of results from places like Princeton and Harvard. He (or others) might be lying about them but that would have been called out. How would you fake being on the Harvard team representing America at a World Debating Championship? This is what makes Ted Cruz so reprehensible. With that kind of education and ability WHY DOES HE DO WHAT HE DOES? You just made another comment about something being broken in him. I think that's the best summation on Ted Cruz yet - there's something broken in him. Just like there is with the entire GOP. At one point Lincoln was the GOP man. He freed the slaves and united (or tired to) America under incredibly difficult times. By current definition he was a "Progressive" in that he wanted America to make progress and go forward and develop. The GOP have their base trapped in a 1950s fantasy that's so broken they nominate people like Lauren Boebert and have people like Ted Cruz being anti-intellectual, anti-science, anti-progress and anti-democratic all while he flies his family to Mexico (Cancun) for safety. Seriously not even the most drugged up delusional Hollywood maniac soap opera script writer could have written this shite beforehand.
