I'm Australian but went to college in America (U. Illinois) and have visited Texas a number of times. What puzzles me is that the vast majority of my encounters with Texans were really positive. I found Texans like most Americans to be friendly, courteous, welcoming, good humored and could take a joke,.... I just wanted to put it out there that in my experience Ted Cruz is not representative of the people I have met in Texas. I spent my first Thanksgiving in Kentucky and I can say the same about Mitch McConnell and Rand Paul. These people represent a fringe of society that have manged to bewilder with a mix of fear and anger. We have people who do that here in Australia. Its what Vladimir Putin does in Russia. Its what Nigel Farage and the Brexiteer promoters did in Britain. Sad to say that in the American case an Australian, Rupert Murdoch, is right there in the middle of this. Just as people in Texas will never be able to apologise for Ted Cruz, NO Australian will ever be able to apologise for Rupert Murdoch or what he has done. I wish your state the best and hope you can find a way past this clown.

@JB-zs1oq Sorry but the correct statement is that he is NO LONGER an Australian Citizen. Hate it all you like but Murdoch was BORN HERE. Just because the Brits were stupid and gave him a passport and then the Americans were stupid and gave him a passport doesn't change the fact he was born here as well as his 2 oldest kids. Yeah it sucks, but its also the facts.

@JB-zs1oq Then why didn't you say that up front. And by the way NO MATTER what citizenship people have our country claims people ALL THE TIME. Just this week they were all claiming Katherine Bennell-Pegg is the next "Aussie Astronaut" FACT - there has never been an Australian citizen either in the Astronaut corps or flown in space. Phillip Chapman, Paul Scully-Power and Andy Thomas were all American citizens like Rupert but that didn't stop EVERY Australian claiming they were true blue Aussies. Katherine Bennell-Pegg made the European Space Agency team on her BRITISH PASSPORT yet everyone is lording her as the next Aussie Astronaut.
