@insightfulhistorian1861 That's without doubt the biggest issue in the world right now. How do we fight idiocy in a world where the media pump out nonsense constantly? In the film "True Lies" Tom Arnold's character tells Arnold Schwarzenegger's character that his daughter's real parents are Axel Rose and Madonna and that the few minutes he spends with her each day can't compete. For every YT channel, news paper and media outlet that tries to tell people the basic facts of modern society there's 10 or more channels telling nonsense. David keeps saying we need to teach "critical thinking" in schools. I agree and the first thing to teach people is that the word critical in that context does NOT mean "to criticise" it actually means "to critique" and that's quite a different concept. To critique things is to asses information and judge it for value against a known standard. Anyone can say they don't like something. But making sense to other people why they don't like something takes effort.

Without even having to watch this video (cos we've all seen 20 or more stories in part or in full on this), THE ANSWER IS YES. YES its a failure of journalists, as well as the GOP, the Democrats and the US Electoral commission. Because none of them checked. But lets also not forget every dumb cluck who voted for him.

@insightfulhistorian1861 I hate to break it but EVERY country, state, county, city, town and village has got them. The village idiot used to be someone we could handle because the couldn't travel that far, but these days with social media they have been able to share and reinforce their idiocy. WORSE there are people like Santos willing and able to exploit them.
