  1. Actually its been standard policy for every elected politician in the Western World for at least 50 years. Telling the truth is almost irrelevant for any politician these days because even if they tell the truth who believes them other than devoted blind ignorant followers?

  2. @V good point. Its just that there are few professions where lying is part of the job and most of those are criminal. There's almost societal acceptance of it in politics.
