I'm Australian but went to college in America. One day as I channel hopped I had my introduction to televangelism. I asked my friends what this insanity was. The first thing they told was to shut up you never know who's listening and then they proceeded to tell me how much money was involved and how much power they had and how many people BELIEVED THEM. That was in the late 80s. The person I had seen was Jim Baker (before he went to jail) and his insaner than insane wife Tammy. In those pre-HDTV days she actually shined and reflected light on TV. It was farking amazing to see and even more amazing that people believed them. Suddenly a year or so ago I saw that he was back preaching the same idiotic crap he had in the 80s. Despite going to jail for fraud and cheating on his wife PEOPEL STILL BELIEVE HIM. Bannon is a smart bastard that many people have underestimated. He knows exactly how stupid and gullible Trumps base is and that they will believe almost anything they are told.

@gregbors8364 I'd agree except I wouldn't put Miller in the same league as Bannon. Certainly he's a snake and damn dangerous one at that, but he's not in the same league as Bannon and he doesn't operate like Bannon. Miller sneaks around quietly looking for opportunities while Bannon stomps around making buckets of noise looking for confrontation. Miller doesn't seem to crave or like confrontation. His preference seems to be to sneak off and wait for another opportunity. Its hard to say which of the 2 is more dangerous. One's like a lion on the hunt and the other's like a pit viper. One moves about looking for a fight and the other slithers about poisoning what ever it bites. You're spot on with Trump. He's a pure narcissistic attention seeking sociopath.

@bladerunner3314 I missed your comment about looking up Peter Popoff. As I said earlier I went to college in America in the late 80s and could barely believe what they were doing then. Here in Australia we get a bunch of them every day on our secondary channels spewing out their crap. They have been doing it for a long time as well. Even before I went to America there were a couple here. They weren't the real heavy handed types back then but they are now. The strangest one I've heard about of the current breed is Creflo Dollar who actually preaches this weird wealth doctrine. Apparently God was mistaken when he said that the "love of money (as in greed) was a problem." According to Creflo - God was brilliant at all those other formulas that hold the Universe together but when it came to those other symbols $, €, £, ¥, %,... God needed Creflo to help him out. At least back in Popoffs day they at least pretended they were real. Creflo and others don't even try.

@patriciawright8786 As I said to Blade Runner this stuff ahs been going on for decades. Sadly its now part of the fabric of society. Its like a cancer that has been allowed to metastasize.

@patriciawright8786 Creflo has a Wikipedia page if you want to have look at his version of ridiculous garbage.
