@deniseeugene1852 I'm Actually Australian but went to college in America. What freaks me out more than anything is that most people don't realise 2 incredibly important things. And sorry this is a long reply. 1) How important America is economically to the whole world. The US Dollar is the worlds reserve currency and that was decided in 1944 at Bretton Woods. Its now so ingrained there's no practical way to move to another currency. What so many don't realise is how much world trade is done in US Dollars and even when its done through other currencies the currency markets work because the US Dollar keeps them working. 2) America is no longer politically stable, because there are a pack of about 25-30 billionaires who are totally bonkers. They make most James Bond Villains look sensible. Several of the key players are engineers like Charles Koch. One of them, Robert Mercer did his PhD in computer engineering at the same college I did my degree in aerospace engineering (yeah small world). So I know what sort of things they can rationalise and that scares me as much as anything else. SO YOU KNOW - I might have done aerospace but a bunch of my friends were pre-law and we ended up discussing the constitution a lot. It was the late 80s so they'd all done Civics in high school and were doing pre-law and knew how to argue the Constitution. This is how I know about how the US System is supposed to work. Its why I think Mitch McConnell and his billionaire backers are so damn dangerous and that danger extends to the rest of the world. An unstable America means an unstable US Dollar and that's catastrophic to world trade. Sorry for the long reply.

You are 100% right, if we are living in normal times. What we are now living in is an abnormal time and logic and common sense come a long way after NARRATIVE. America lost this fight after Mitch McConnell, Rupert Murdoch and others among the elite refused to hold Trump accountable for January 6th. The fact that almost 2 years later he has STILL not been held accountable is an indictment on BOTH the Dems & GOP. The Constitution, which Americans hold up like a sacred text to the world and a beacon of light, is now worthless because the people commissioned to protect it have instead trashed it.

@deniseeugene1852 I'd agree that so far its SURVIVED, but if you think it will continue to survive then you are living in denial. Go watch Thom Hartman's stuff on the Libertarian movement that's heavily funded by people like Charles Koch. They want to hold a Constitutional Convention and they only need 34 states to agree. He's reported they have 31 at the moment. At such a convention it only requires 26 states to chance the Constitution and at such a Constitution each state gets 1 vote on any and all resolutions. YES ITS INSANE but then the ideology of the Libertarians is insane. What people have misread is they are not only extremely well funded but they are also well organised. I'm not talking about the Trumpists (they're nuts) I'm talking about the billionaires who fund influential think tanks like the CATO Institute. They are well organised, well funded and they do want to burn the US Constitution.
