  1. Another Australian here: Be careful pointing that finger because the Liberal-National Coalition here is heading down the same path. I went to college in America in the late 80s. I was there for the 87 campaign season and OUR AUSTRALIAN campaigns are now WORSE than what I saw happen in America. Just look at how the referendum campaigns went. NOT the result but the actual campaigns. Our politics is NOT YET as bad as America's but we are catching up. A major part of the problem is that our campaigns are infected with American campaign consultants and have been for a while. On top of that is the insane influence of the American Consultant Industry. PwC, KPMG, EY, Deloitte, McKinsey,.... etc. ARE ALL AMERICAN. After that is the even more insane influence of the Think Tanks which also have links back to the American Think Tank system. Since you are here on YT. Go and look up Australia's most influential Think Tank the Institute of Public Affairs and scroll down to the links to "Other Organisations" and look at who they link to. Check them out if you don't recognise who the CATO Institute, Heritage Foundation and others are.
