  1. Its actually very common in other countries, most notably Japan, to wear masks in Flu Season. As such it wasn't a problem for them to wear masks. What has gone very bad for America is the incredible "My Rights" mentality that America has. I'm Australian but went to college in America. I love America and the American people, but you're not perfect. Of all the traits that American's have that drives everyone else crazy its the "My Rights" mentality. The Bill of Rights is one of the greatest achievements in human history. It really is and yes I get into trouble voicing that. In general I found Americans to be incredibly kind and generous, but there's also this Jekyll & Hyde trait when it comes to personnel rights. Its almost like they just snap into a hyper-defensive mode and stop considering consequences and outcomes. Way too often Americans put their own rights ahead of what's best for everyone. Listen to what David's saying around 6 to 7 minutes. Wearing masks isn't about anyone's rights its about what's best. In Australia at one point the major supermarkets simply handed everyone masks as they entered. No one complained and no one protested, it was a matter we wanted this under control and wanted our lives back. We haven't had anyone die here since late December. Lockdowns and restrictions and new rules sucked, but we are getting our lives back.
