  1. I am an engineer and you are one of the few people I have seen who gets that basic reality. At Liddell in NSW they are replacing a 2,000MW coal fired power station with a 750MW battery. Those batteries are super profitable and pay off in as little as 18 months. But 2,000MW of GENERATING CAPACITY has gone. At full power a 750MW battery pumping out at a rate of 2,000MW is fully drained in less than 23 minutes. As an engineer ITS INFURIATING that so much of the public discussion on energy is presented by incompetent media who keep putting microphones in front of clowns and there are clowns on EVERY SIDE of this. Will that battery at Liddell be worth it? Absolutely, but people need to be properly informed about what it means. It will help buffer the wind and solar systems BUT IT WONT SOLVE THE OVERALL PROBLEM. As engineers we can solve these problems but all the clown brained media hacks, the vested interests, all the charlatans & scumbags out to make a quick $$$, all the self interested twats who just rant about crap and all the rest of the ignorant clowns NEED TO STFU and let us do our jobs.
