  1.  @felixw19  In either case this incident scares me very deeply as it does not appear to be an engineering problem and instead it appears to be a quality control / not doing your job problem. However this is just speculation until we do see the final report on how this exactly happened.

  2. I totally disagree. Someone could have forgotten to install the same bolts (or the cotter pins that prevent them from backing out) on the door plug on the brand new plane design. And whomever was supposed to inspect the work could have just checked the box instead of actually looking.

  3.  @hodgeheg480 Fully agreed. MCAS was needed because of a design consideration that was made long ago and not easy to change on the existing plane.
