  1. We had the glass bottle deposits in Pennsylvania in the 1970s and early 1980s. No deposits since then. We moved on to having the trash pickup have a separate recycling collection which we pay an extra mandatory fee for the recycling. A few years back the recycling company Waste Management told us to no longer recycle glass. We either have to throw it away with the regular trash or take it to a special glass recycling place or hold it for a once a year recycling event in our local area.
