  1. We had that in the USA long (as late as the 1980s) ago but it disappeared when plastic bottles and cans replaced glass bottles. With that said as of last year our local weekly recycling collection (which we pay for them to take the recyclables) no longer accepts glass at all. They want you to throw it away.
