  7. In Canada Simon Fraser University did a study showing how much Vancouver could save ($800,000/year) by getting these people off the street and treated. The police union freaked because savings included cutting the police force in half (because they wouldn't be needed). Their numbers included everything, including building the buildings. It got buried. Nobody wanted to hear it.
