  1. My first new car was a 1977 VW Rabbit and most new cars came with a 12 month 10,000 mile warranty. My cabin AC fan stopped working just out of warranty and the dealer wanted what seemed like a lot of money for a new fan. I fixed it my spraying electrical cleaner on the motor's brushes! The crappy design of the motor left the brushes in the path of all of the filth.
