Rubbish Rubbis.Modern music is made individuall sounds in soundproof rooms with no “bleed thru” whereas older music was made by recording the whole band meaning it gives a warmer more real sound.oh dear

@StringerNews1 I was a session musician for many years for major record companies.I saw the change over from digital to analogue and multitrack.even up to 124 tracks,Studios now have tens of thousands of pounds of sound equipment and professional engineers. Each instrument and voice is on a isolated track of its own even each part of the drum kit.this is what gives modern music a sterile laboratory sound

@StringerNews1 today they use multiple vocal effects and processing eg “compressors” which makes the quiet louder and loud quieter to keep the sound within certain sound parameter so when you hear a song on radio the chorus is not louder. Also “noise gates” which means if a persons voice is growll they can block the bottom end or to screechy block the top end.Signal processing is massive. The listener instinctely hears this artificiality and the difference when played against the more natural older recordings

@StringerNews1 when people get excited the pitch of their voice gets higher,to capitalise on this the last chorus of music is often sped up by a “pitch shifter” just a little. Some when too far and engineers recognise this as “the donald duck’ sound.Older recordings do not have this and are closer tona natural sound so vynl is more genuine

@StringerNews1 The donald duck effect cannot be done with analogue without sending it thru digital processor. Before bout 1990 everything was recorded on reel to reel. The Drum machine was not invented till the 80s and took time to common on recordings Also MIDI did not come in till late 80s along with synth (synthetic) sounds. You called me prejudiced ’ but yr out of yr depth.peace
