@jubbybrab "small children" certainly implies pre-teen, and although I have very liberal views as far as adult drug usage is concerned, I absolutely draw the line at pre-teen people being given that quantity of a toxic drug. Barman is lucky it didn't become a legal issue, despite the language misunderstanding

They are called Bramley 🍏apples🍏. The only apples to use for cooking e.g. apple pie, crumble,cobbler or apple sauce to have with roast pork🍏

@Nick Janssens Maybe so - if that is the case then I do not think he should do that. That is just a more subtle version of TikTok type tactics. However I think he just gets things wrong now and again, because people do sometimes. He's not the only one on YT to do authoritative videos with the occasional mistake, and just like old-style TV program makers, this WILL happen, bc you know human beings make mistakes, and it doesn't make him a worse content producer, just a human one.

That's more like french restaurant cooking based off Escoffier et al , like the typical euro style chef Trad French cooking is more rustic, with lots of robust flavour, like bouillabaisse or boeuf bourguignon or coq au vin

@markbriten6999 I well remember visiting Bruges in 1982 and having some nice Stella. But Belgian dark beers like Chimay are pretty amazing tbf.

@jayteegamble If you're a teenager, but alcohol is a drug and a strong one at that. If I said smoke heroin until you vomit(won't take much lol) you might think it extreme. Well drinking until you vomit as an adult is a sign you have err... issues imo

@KNURKonesur Years ago it tended to be too sweet, if anything, e.g. Woodpecker, but I think drier styles were perceived to be more popular, especially with those who also drank lager, which of course cider makers were keen to convert to cider, which is certainly cheaper to make. In the mid/late 70s Merrydown(which came in medium & dry styles) at 8% ABV was a revelation, compared to many lagers & ales which at the time were 3.5% in the UK and pretty appalling at that. I think that literally every style of cider is available somewhere in the UK. IMHO the best is proper cloudy naturally sparkling scrumpy - tastes like apple juice but is 8% or so. Very easy to drink too much in hot weather ;)
