@hugomaritz692 I'm 58, man, I'm not a hipster lol. That's not capitalism. That's just having a medium of exchange. China is no different to the US or Brazil, just with added horror. The problems with capitalism are for example the paper lunacy that caused the 2008 and 1929 crashes, cartels, and the dead hand of shareholder-owned companies. The job of government is to protect the people from the depredations of predatory shareholder owned corporations and their shell game of endless paper derivatives of derivatives of endlessly complicated wheels within wheels.
Money in today's world is just paper and as we've seen with covid, suddenly huge amounts of money can be magicked into existence by governments. All that "balance the budget" stuff is just hot air. "God" didn't create money, or anthropogenic climate change or many other problems that beset the world, We did.
The Earth is a closed system, and endless growth is not the answer. Human rights around the world haven't come from banks or corporations have they? The happiest countries in the world are not those with unfettered free markets anyway.

I'm sure free markets have their uses but they are just one tool in a big toolbox. If you slavishly believe in the exclusivity of any human-designed system, as the saying goes, if all the know is a hammer, everything becomes a nail. And a "mass psychosis" just as this video talks about.
Even the game of Monopoly has a UBI built in. When do the starving and homeless masses pass "Go"? In any sensible world, there needs to be basic free healthcare, a guarantee of being fed and housed, freely available birth control, free and high quality basic education.
Why would you "hand all resources to the state"? - that's a strawman fallacy and you know it.

@oCHEWYYo The comments on this video really piqued my interest, because of the mixture of disparate and mutually contradictory world-views they encompassed. Flat earthers, anti-LGBT & anti-equality types, anti-vaxxers, covid deniers, the whole 9 yards. Especially the claims of censorship, "THEM!" and of course "Do your own research".
The "truth" is in plain sight. Anything that is anti-love, pro-hate, pro-greed etc etc is the problem. Hunger, homelessness, disease, a lack basic of education, are all obvious problems that need fixing. All the rest is nonsense. We must love one another or die.

@gillianchisholm6432 Things to understand - a) confirmation bias b)scientific method c) I have actually been to hospital, not with covid but with a chest infection with an underlying condition(COPD & asthma) Now you might have the same infection as me, but because you do not have underlying conditions you'll just feel rough for a little while , maybe take some antibiotics or not, but I need IV antibiotics, nebulisation, bed rest in hospital etc.
Gillian, I used to be OK, but people like myself who have respiratory problems already may die from viral pneumonia, covid, or flu precisely because they ALREADY have underlying respiratory conditions, which is why we get vaxed against anything we can to stave off being admitted to ICU

Do you really see the GOP being rounded up, put in camps and exterminated. To say they're suffering like the Jews in Nazi Germany is an insult to the 6 million murdered by white supremacists during the 30s and 40s. It was not just the Jews, it was gays gypsies, disabled people, trans people, slavs and anyone the Nazis didn't like.
The USSR wasn't fascist, but Stalinist, an authoritarian corruption of the failed attempt to create a communist state.
The likes of Bernie Sanders and friends are Social democrats, perhaps best described as centre left, unfortunately obsessed with identity politics
The large corporations that run the USA represented by the Dems are just globalist capitalists with a bit of progressive window dressing to satisfy young people's attitudes to sexuality and cultural values, but essentially the same old hegemony of capitalism.
Do really think Amazon and the Google of today, Elon Musk and his ilk are on the left? Of course they aren't. They're just on the liberal side of the culture wars because that's where the money is.
Basically the ever larger working class of the USA and to a large extent Europe are getting shafted, while they squabble over a load of imaginary internet nonsense.
The important things that comprise democratic socialism are - for all people -
1)Healthcare free to all at the point of use.
2)Employment - receiving a living wage with reasonable working conditions
3) Education - basic education up to degree level without having to go into crippling debt
4) Housing - everyone entitled to basic housing at reasonable cost, no large homeless population on the streets
5) Welfare or a Universal basic Income. a guarantee that no-one is destitute and starving, and able to survive if they cannot work.
Of course there will always be some sort of private sector but it must not monopolise the means of production to the detriment of ordinary people's lives.
