As an English person I have to apologise to the Native Americans for everything shit we did then. The story about the Great Dying made me sob so much ❤

The social history of ordinary people, their food, customs and how they coped with poverty can teach us so much.

@telebubba5527 Exactly so. The "great men" view of history is an outdated one. There are those who would say that focusing on the history of the common man is "cultural socialism". The rich & powerful aren't keen on anything that takes the limelight off their interests, because they don't want the ordinary guy wising up and realising they are stronger together than a handful of billionaires. The history of the people is the story of how we have gradually got the ruling class' boot off our collective necks.

@Deadlyish In the UK we call it sweetcorn or corn-on-the-cob usually

Sabizos Still available in the UK. Sriracha is a style rather than a brand of chili sauce, and is not an invention of Huy Fong, any more than Heinz invented Ketchup(personally I prefer a tomato ketchup that actually tastes of tomatoes) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sriracha

@Monkeyshaman The Birds invented baking and everyone knows "birds aren't real"

@Monkeyshaman Let's face it, almost everything humans do is "made up" to some degree or other
