Great comment, and what they did against freedom fighters all over the colonial world (I'm English btw - the british working class got nothing but wage-slave jobs from the Empire)

You are completely factually incorrect. And you definitely know you are. You are just trolling.

Yes the "both sides debate" is such a lazy journo trick. They used to do the same with the climate crisis. Best wishes to a fellow trans person across the pond!

@JohnBrown-tw2qi they can create as much debt as they like as long it doesn't trigger a Truss-like crash They can "borrow" any amount for infrastructure or investment, just not fund tax cuts which is like getting a bank loan to go on a drug binge

@RomanHistoryFan476AD This is a more important point than most people have made - good stuff

I would have been tempted to ask where the guys think it is
2
@LoganLS0 OK that's just replying with a synonym. So the question is "what is a human female?"

I am such a fan of Tom and his whole academic rigorous approach. His piece on J Petersen and how he doesn't understand G Orwell https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BQWjyo1m0Yg turned me into him.
2
@allypoum me too!!
2
@johnny196775 Yeah I know what you mean, I am 59 and recall the events described in this video. I know what you mean, but seeing a young guy like Tom not espousing neoliberalism gives me some hope for the future, and I enjoy seeing something intelligent and higher quality than reality shows and other garbage. Best of luck to you too man!

Someone who has been the lead in a few hit movies?

Tramp the stinking dirt down! Bloody Thatchler! I 'ates 'er I does :) I lived through it and it was utter total absolute bollocks

It's 10/22 and Elon is supposedly going through with the Twitter purchase!

@XMysticHerox 2010s "austerity" was based on a spreadsheet by 3 economists. After a year or so they found a flaw in it which rendered their whole idea invalid. Did Osborne acknowledge that and change policies? Did he feck

@toniderdon Here's the world's smallest violin playing for private landlords.. They're in business for profit. I don't care about them or "the economy". Business is sink or swim, don't go into business if you can't make it pay legally. Regulations have been steadily dismantled - this is a UK video btw. We used to have really good regulation of private landlords, which was put in place after a series of scandals in the 1950s but 💩Maggie Thatchler 💩repealed it all, and allowed social housing tenants to buy their properties without building replacements. It has been an unmitigated disaster!

Good points and well-made.

@kreigpinson4368 US "prosperity churches" are like the Ford religion in BNW. Tinder,Grindr & internet hookup sites are akin to sexual relations in BNW. I agree that weed (& coke and antidepressants) have something in common with soma
1
@richardbenitez7803 By populism, the leaders you mention seem to really mean encouraging the worst animalistic urges of humanity, for me they are no better than any despotic scum you care to mention. Nationalism and institutional religion are cancers in the body of the human race imho. Medieval essentialism at its worst.
1
@cnoeroman Exactly, a festering boil which is rotting the world. Good luck
1
Love your injections of humour to leaven an otherwise possibly flat topic, and illustrate your serious points. Love your work man. Keep up the good work!! Like this venn diagram :) https://youtu.be/tVNQElN6VY8?t=1450

Thank you very very much Tom for doing this piece. A really helpful (and amusing) take on the whole transphobia nightmare. I am trans and I am grateful for your supportive and excellent video
1
@vividwight I think medlife crisis had the same issue
1
@whoisarpan5685 It is not a simple question that has a simple answer. My answer would be "A person who is a woman" If it is so simple, let's hear your version.
1
@LoganLS0 Do you? What is your definition?

It's 10/22 and Elon is supposedly going through with the Twitter purchase!
1
@robertwall3795 You mean the government of the US has done its best to force neoliberalism upon its citizens which takes up more and more of their time and money merely to preserve the status quo and restore and strengthen the power of the ruling class. The Democrats are the party of neoliberalism, especially since the GOP became home of the neo-fascists and crazies
1
@Tom_Nicholas Great stuff Tom! I am so pleased to have discovered you content. It was the "JP doesn't understand 1984/George Orwell " one that did it for me Please keep up the good work
1
@johnny196775 I feel the neocons are neoliberals but with more militarism and added culture warfare. It all comes down the same thing as far as the proletariat are concerned. More circuses and less bread.
1
@johnny196775 I have my ups and downs. I'm in the UK and something of an old anarcho-punk hippie which probably helps my demeanour!
1
@johnny196775 I rather like some of George Carlin's output on religion etc but that's not impossible. I spend a fair bit of time on reddit these days and I am a genderfluid pansexual kinda person.
1
@johnny196775 But I don't really worry to much about the words people use, especially historically, more the intentions behind them.
1
@johnny196775 In the UK a term like "tranny" is used affectionately by trans people themselves, we probably have more in common with the Australians with our robust use of language(or course here a fag is a cigarette lol). I live in SE London in a traditional working class community, where one is accepted if one is honest about oneself. I have noticed that being 'closeted' is seen as being dishonest and "slippery", a serious insult here. Things have really improved since the internet became universal in London anyway, compared to the 80s and the "gay plague" hysteria. I can visit trad working class pubs dressed as a woman and old men actually flirt with me ;) "two countries divided by a common language" eh ;)
1
That wasn't the question. The question was "Do only women have a cervix?"
1
@mathiasrryba As usual the person's comments I was replying to have disappeared :)
1
@Cecilia-ky3uw You do sound like the average "centrist" to a UK ear
1
@Cecilia-ky3uw Not in Europe really. I know the US has had its probs with organised crime & unions, but that's more about being a corrupt society than some inherent (and non-existent) problems with the working class being self-organising
1
@Cecilia-ky3uw Sorry for pretty much assuming you were from the US. Keep on keeping on sweetheart
1
@Cecilia-ky3uw Cheers
