  1. The British Isles is a relatively small area of Europe compared to larger countries in North America, South America, Africa, Middle East and Asia. The UK using nuclear weapons against Russia would mean Russia retaliating against the UK with nuclear weapons. Russia would only need two RS28 Sarmat nuclear ICBM missiles or one Poseidon nuclear torpedo to end life on the British Isles. The US could then choose to take over British nuclear weapons and submarines to defend US military assets in East Asia.
