CDs and optical discs including Blu-ray are better than vinyl and have the advantage of being more resilient and longer lasting than vinyl and one big advantage is that CDs and optical discs don't wear out from normal use with sound quality maintained by error checks. CDs and optical discs including Blu-ray can last decades if stored safely.
