  2. Austerity has always been unnecessary and purely a political choice. Everything put in place by governments from 1945 - 1974 to prevent the conditions for revolution in the UK have been gradually and systematically dismantled and destroyed piece by by piece by successive British governments since 1979. War brought major change to the UK in 1945 and the next war will bring radical change to how the UK is ruled in the future.
