Government liberating pension fund assets to fund UK infrastructure will be a huge mistake for consolidated public sector pension funds and will require compensation from the government in the future. The government could easily use Quantitative Easing to fully fund all UK infrastructure without using any money from public sector pension funds the majority of whose members have small pensions.
