  2. Austerity is a political choice that is completely unnecessary. Quantitative Easing can fund all public services, nationalisation of all privatised public services, renationalisation of privatised utilities water, electricity, gas, and bus, rail, mail, telecom and broadband. Quantitative Easing could fully fund reinstatement of legacy benefits increased to cover cost of living crisis with legacy benefits replacing Universal Credit. Quantitative Easing could fully fund state pensions and winter fuel payments. Bank of England has already spent £4 trillion on Quantitative Easing between 2009 to 2022 with the majority of this money gone to institutional investors. Bank of England spent £200 billion on Quantitative Easing in 2009. There is no Government economic black hole. Those in receipt of social security benefits and low incomes are not economically inactive as they spend a greater proportion of their meager income in the local economy than the rich.
