Voters in the next general who supported a ceasefire could abstain from voting for MPs who abstained and did not vote for a ceasefire in Gaza. Abstentions in Parliamentary votes are a way for MPs to support or oppose important motions and amendments to enable them to get re-elected in the next general election whilst still receiving support from their wealthy party donors and Country Friends Groups.
