It's time MPs should be banned from second jobs and multiple consultancy work as this has led to corruption, with some MPs paid immense amounts of money for a few hours work. Being an MP is a full time job that is very well paid and a job that requires time to allow MPs to represent their constituents. The people would like MPs to understand the issues that face the majority of people in their lives and this could be achieved with a wealth cap on MPs set at £2 million and a ban on MPs being landlords as such a ban could work towards improving council and social housing in the UK. A wealth cap on MPs could limit the rise of new political oligarchs and political oligarchy dynasties whose primary objective would be to enrich themselves and not truly represent the interests of the majority of constituents. It's clear that MPs who are themselves or part of families who have vast wealth in excess of millions, in some cases over £100 million or even over £1 billion are as far removed from understanding average workers and average constituents lives as Martians from the planet Mars.
