One possible reason for keeping Russian reserves in foreign countries in foreign currencies could be to state that Russia's foreign debt payments are held by foreign countries who are now responsible to pay existing Russia's debts and liabilities for goods, services and trade from the sanctioned frozen financial foreign reserves.

Ukrainians could ask why 80% of the senior officials in Ukraine hold US citizenship as dual citizens (dual citizenship is legal in Ukraine) and why 90% wealth of senior Ukrainian officials is in Europe and the US and how Zelensky became a millionaire and the offshore companies mentioned in the Pandora Papers. It's time the Ukrainian government was represented by Ukrainians without dual citizenship and without their wealth outside Ukraine.

  8. The UK has 300 years of British coal reserves at 1980s rate of use and were coal to receive the same subsidies as nuclear power than users could be paid to use electricity and coal. The UK has been able to convert coal to natural gas for many decades. Renewable energy cannot replace coal, gas and oil. The economic costs of sanctions on the UK will unfortunately mean a revolution with the most far right government seen in the UK.

Bloomberg reports that the UK is sending billions of litres of petrol to the US. The UK has petrol (gasoline) prices averaging (according to RAC) at around GBP £1.80 per litre or USD $2.21 per litre or GBP £6.81 per US Gallon the equivalent of USD $8.38 per gallon including UK taxes. The US could use some of it's vast oil reserves to reduce its prices and the UK could stop sending oil to the US and lower petrol prices in the UK.
