Politicians who support Brexit will lose the next general election as people realise it's British politicians and British policy in the British Parliament responsible for their problems not the EU. Tories and Eurosceptic politicians have blamed their own failures on others to get themselves elected and re-elected for decades. It's not the EU's fault that the UK has 43 years of Tory rule it's the UK, the British voters and British political system including First Past The Post electoral system and the billionaire owned British mainstream media.
