  1. The people in the film knew and talked about the issues of social cleansing where the poor have been moved away from valuable city areas that have been gentrified from 1979 onwards. Many people from the 1970s would be horrified about the housing crisis in later decades caused by Thatcherism where the poor have to compete against poor for council housing and where councils compete against councils for limited public funds.
