The British voters could have voted for real change with a Labour Government in December 2019 but instead voted Conservative for Brexit supported by billionaire owned British mainstream media. Mainstream broadcast media including BBC News, ITV News and Sky News also supported the Conservatives by being far more critical of the 2019 Labour Party and its leader Jeremy Corbyn. First Past The Post electoral system meant Boris Johnson and Conservatives won an 80 seat majority. However were the D'Hondt regional list electoral system of proportional representation used than the Conservatives would only have a majority of 3 seats and Conservatives wouldn't be able to push through their worst policies.

@serinadelmar6012 First Past The Post electoral system is responsible for many post war Conservative Governments where Conservatives (Tories) are elected on a minority share of the overall votes cast.

@shauntaylor6040 Yes, that's true and the Establishment doesn't want political change in the UK either. I would also add the Establishment and ruling class in the UK would not have to consider issues of industrial action and civil unrest due to cost of living crisis, inflation and energy crisis had Boris Johnson and Conservatives not been elected Prime Minister in the 2019 general election. Jeremy Corbyn and a 2019 Labour Government would have prevented many of the major problems in the UK and reduce levels of inequality, poverty and deprivation

In less than 12 months Keir Starmer's New Labour Government will be the most hated Government ever and people will look back at Rishi Sunak's regime with golden nostalgia.
