  26. The media focussed on the landslide general election victory by Boris Johnson's Conservative Party in 2019, however the media did not report on the numbers of votes for each political party, voter share and demographics. Most voters aged under 50 tended to vote Labour and most voters aged over 60 voted Conservative. Jeremy Corbyn's socialist Labour Party received more votes in the general election of 2019 than the Labour Party in 1983, 1987, 2005, 2010 and 2015. Only Harold Wilson in 1964 and Tony Blair in 1997 received more votes than Jeremy Corbyn as leaders of the Labour Party. Jeremy Corbyn's socialist Labour Party received more votes in the 2017 general election than the Labour Party did in 1970, 1974 (two general elections), 1979, 1983, 1987, 1992, 2001, 2005, 2010, 2015, 2019. It's media hostility including broadcasters, lies about Brexit and First Past The Post electoral system that resulted in Boris Johnson's Conservative majority. Therefore the Labour Party needs to return to the Labour values and policies of 2017 and 2019 in order to win future elections. General election results data on the numbers of votes and percentage share of votes cast is available online from House of Commons Library (PDF format): General Election Results: 1918 - 2019: A Century of Elections Briefing Paper: Number CBP7529, 27 February 2020. Research briefings from Parliament has election statistics you need by searching online: Political disengagement in the UK - UK Parliament 'researchbriefings files parliament uk CBP-7501' Additional sources of information: Electoral statistics, UK - Office for National Statistics 'ons gov uk electoralstatisticsforuk/2019 ' The British Election Study 'British Election Study electoral-shocks' According to Electoral Reform Society: Had the 2019 general election used the D'Hondt regional list system of proportional representation the system previously used to elect MEPs in the UK than Boris Johnson would only have a majority of 3 MPs in December 2019. Therefore Jeremy Corbyn has been a success in terms of Labour Party leader and vastly increased Labour Party membership during his time as Labour Party leader. There were 9 million people who were not registered to vote in 2019 and automatic voter registration and free voter photo ID will increase voter participation and voter turnout.

  125.  @kevinparker461  Brexit is a scam and the UK will rejoin the EU as an equal partner with other EU member states. The UK was always an independent sovereign state within the EU with control over its laws. Brexit means the UK loses its sovereignty, loses its independence and loses control to larger countries and global powers. Almost everyone loses from Brexit. The only winners from Brexit are oligarchs, billionaires, those reliant on tax havens, and those with non domiciled tax status who want to avoid EU Tax Directives. It's British politicians in the British Parliament running successive British government since 1979 that caused the problems in British people's lives not the EU, EEC or Europe. Brexit has already cost the UK over a trillion pounds in lost wealth and hundreds of billions in lost trade and cost the UK more than all the annual UK's EEC and EU membership contributions combined. Leading Brexiteers demanded Brexit to make themselves immensely wealthy from deregulation, self regulation and avoidance of regulation and they have succeeded. Brexiteers and Eurosceptics never stopped campaigning for the UK to leave the EEC from 1973 and the EU from 1988 anymore than those seeking to rejoin the EU will stop trying to rejoin the EU from 2016 onwards. Many Brexiteers and supporters of Brexit don't want Brexit for themselves because they have sought, obtained EU membership or reside in EU member states or Transferred their wealth to the EU. It seems Brexiteers don't want Brexit for themselves, their families or their wealth.
