US strategic and military planners may not have made mistakes by leaving the Afghanistan and leaving US military supplies, clothing, footwear, helmets, communications, covert intelligence, biometric data, weapons and ordinance, military equipment, vehicles, aircraft and technology. US strategic and military planners may have concluded that leaving Afghanistan was the only way to stop China's annexation of Afghanistan. US and strategic military planners may believe the US and allies are unable to stop China claiming Afghanistan in the same way China claimed Tibet. China is not the US, not the UK and not the USSR. Were any military forces in Afghanistan to even accidentally wage war against China thinking they were still in Afghanistan then China would prevail by overwhelming land invasion and overwhelming military force to annexe Afghanistan to become part of mainland China. US military and strategic planners may believe that allowing the Taliban and similar groups to take over Afghanistan will mean these groups will help break up China in the same way that armed insurgents helped to weaken the Soviet Union and break up the USSR. However US military and strategic planners have greatly underestimated China.
