I really, really did not like this "we are the teachers here" analogy, drawn by the host of the channel (not by Douglas). The very same rhetoric is used by islamists: "we have God's light in our possession and are on a mission to teach the rest of the world."
No. Israel wants to be treated like all other states: their right to exist is not universally and constantly questioned; if they are attacked, nobody objects to their self-defense; if they are accused of war crimes, evidence is required.
Israel's "chosenness" is extra obligations: follow all 613 Commandments of the Torah (Exodus 19:6), and not just the 7 Noachide laws (a minimal set of barriers to protect the world from being downright destroyed). The rest of the world is under no such obligation, and the Jew is not here to approach and "teach" anyone who didn't ask to be taught, but only to grow and improve the world, starting with oneself. (The most extreme of the Jewish leftist activists are usually those the least well versed in the Torah and Talmud.)
Attacks on Israel's military campaign and victories are appalling, not because of the "chosenness" of the Jews, but because they try to hold Israel to much higher standards (some of them just plain suicidal) than any other country is held to.
