  1. She sounds like a manipulative and controlling liar. "No sex for 5 years", but some of the guys she has seen are bad in bed? Also, "looking for other partners while they were still seeing me"? So, if this "seeing" was exclusive and committed (she says these guys "cheated" on her), how come there was no intimacy?   She hasn't even met her next candidate, but she already wants him to "join her on adventures exploring the world"?  Is it me, or does it sound like she has a pre-designed agenda, with the man playing a secondary role in it?  It's not "*we* would explore the world *together*".  It's "join me". On a smaller scale, as the host here commented, "glamorous" is an exaggeration, but I also wanted to point out that "mid-life" is misleading as well. She is 58. Does she plan to live to about twice that age? Two-thirds of a high average life expectancy is not "mid-life". I am surprised the author of the article didn't bring those... ahem... inconsistencies to light.

  7. I think this video makes a very important point, but stops short of driving it home. It is this. There is a difference between sleeping together (purely for physical gratification) and dating (with the goal of building a relationship). For men, the above distinction is completely natural, while for women the natural emotional structure is that the two (physical intimacy and relationship building) go hand-in-hand. Those women who, for this reason, fail to make the distinction that men make naturally, end up mistaking "sleeping value" for "dating value". Overall, these are all symptoms of greater and deeper societal problems.

  8. I imagine, he was trying to hold on to the marriage mainly because of the kids. And she knew it. Most women have no reservation about using their kids as hostages or a human shield.
