Not great.

The United States Marine Corps is meeting its recruiting goals, and will continue to. The Commandant In his infinite wisdom, long ago laid a deep enough supply of crayons that we will be good at least until 2136.
1
At some point in the future you're likely to be right. Acting like it's going to be tomorrow, however is not a display of intelligence.
1
@AKlover cool story bro. Get back to me when machine learning has managed to solve any of the major roadblocks facing it right now. I'll give you some free chicken to go ahead and eat. If you can solve any one of these problems, you've just wrote your ticket to if not billionaire status something pretty goddamn close. 1) computing power, 2) the lack of long-term coherence, and 3) the lack of ability to understand what it doesn't know. Machine learning, satisfactory intelligences and eventually at some point the distant future truly artificial intelligences are all going to be major game changers, paradigm shifters, insert corporate term here thingy for humanity as a whole. But a bunch of business people deciding it's going to happen, isn't the way it's going to happen. We have some very real technical, infrastructural and programming issues that have to be solved. And we are kind of running up against some blocks that seem difficult for our present state of the art to overcome them.

Only they haven't yet?

Top Gun is a Navy movie. The USN doesn't fly the 22. They fly the Super Hornet & the 35.
1
Nothing China has done the last 20 years demonstrates any of the flaws Russia has made a habit of in the last five.
1
It's highly unlikely any aggressive country is settling going to find its moral compass. Or sign that tree
1
Not perfect.
1
Considering the different environments the units originate from, no. But that does not change the fact that they aren't excellent light infantry.
1
It shows.
1
Taiwan is too far away for a reliable artillery campaign, and bombing would require Chinese aircraft to be able to defeat incredibly formidable anti-aircraft defenses, as well as out fight Taiwanese and US pilots.
1
@Bitfire31337 they would need to have a Navy capable of mounting a credible defense against the United States navy. They do not.
1
@Bitfire31337 👍🏼
1
Nuclear armed nations that are capable of projecting power directly do not project it onto each other directly. We fight proxy wars. That way no one gets to find out what a full nuclear exchange looks like.
1
Not a single one of their carriers is like any of ours.
1
I have an answer. Everything is not.
1
That's the greatest weakness of the United States. And one that enemies have successfully exploited in the past.
1
Right. 👍🏼 And better at the job. MICLIC is a hell of a show too. 😈
1
You misspelled "long term COD player with three airsoft deployments."
1
Ryan, this video and everything you've done since the shit in Ukraine kicked off... 1. It's been top-notch work, and has no shit inspired me to step up my game when it comes to translating things for the civilians in my life. 2. It has been actually inspiring. 3. And the number of vets that I meet that have rapidly ended up getting to talking about your channel even if we never met each other points to a growing community that you are perhaps unintentionally building. Seriously, great job SFC. Semper Fi from one is a number of fmr Marines that watch this thing.
1
Nope
1
They aren't required to let go of it though. They're just not likely to try to win this fight militarily at this time.
1
With great determination and focus
1
Broken clocks being right, in his case only once a day.
1
I don't know what branch you served in, or when. My Marines who happened to be female were just as useful as my Marines who happen to be male. (2004, 2006.)
1
Cool. So either pull back to your original borders or go ahead and defeat Ukraine. If they are so weak it should be easy. And if you really want peace then returning to your previous borders isn't a problem.
1
It's already over prescribed as it is. If it was OTC, it would have become useless decades ago.
1
Except that everything that you just saw a demonstrated was done in world war i, world war ii, Vietnam, Korea and every war that has existed since the invention of artillery and prior to the invention of computers and gps. It is all quite capable of being done without those things, and artillery Marines and Soldiers are trained on how to do so.
1
Hey, SFC? The level of humility you demonstrated in making that assessment of you vice that other (at the time) Staff Sergeant ? Best leader or not, it speaks pretty goddamn well of you as a human being.
1
It really doesn't.
1
Jesus Christ that sound, though.
1
What's your problem with porn? That's a particularly puritanical hill to die on considering it's one of the three engines of the internet.
1
You're an idiot. After 20 years of war, a great deal of people speak some Arabic, myself included, with minimal to no connection to the intelligence community. It is apparently difficult for you to grasp the idea that somebody spending nine to 22 month deployments in an Arabic speaking country might pick up some of the language, but I swear it's not a difficult mental leap for the rest of us.
1
Cool story. If Russians go home, they'll stop dying. If you want the war to end, win it or fuck off back to your borders.
1
Comparing modern day China to world war II Japan and Germany is idiotic.
1
@charlesdesocio1560 hit dogs yelp.
1
Canada is one of the most effective US allies, with one of the most frighteningly successful military histories in the West, or in the world. Your government made some terrible decisions with your aerospace industry well before you or I were born. And your country historically treats your military veterans terribly. But the flip side is that you do not overspend on your military unlike the United States and have managed to draw a great deal of benefit from that.
1
Nothing China has done in the last 20 years has illustrated that they have any of the ignorance of the United states, or for the blind arrogance of russia.
1
USMC & (former) Combat Engineer. As somebody else commented, they have MICLICs. Clearing a minefield is hard in training, and absolutely a son of a bitch when people are going to be shooting at you, and when you factor an artillery that's pre-registered on the area, you get a situation that's going to be high casualties regardless. Breaching is never easy. This is the point of minefields.
1
You also predicted this war would be over in 3 days
1
No that's totally different. You used red and white balls
1
And there is absolutely nothing about world war II Germany that can be easily related to present-day china.
1
It's that funny kind of winning where They have a higher casualty ratio, have lost territory they once controlled, have a higher rate of material consumption, and have not managed to successful large-scale attack in months. Maybe that's not losing. It sure is shit isn't winning.
1
@kresbes7240 applying your same logic to Russian performance if you're being manhandled by a puppy, bragging that you're going to beat the ass of a bigger dog doesn't make a shitload of sense. Russia is not performing well against technicals, actual IFVs will not suddenly become easier for them to deal with.
1
@kresbes7240 @Kres Bes it's not a thing to be ashamed of, that English isn't your first language. But Google is free. I'm certain arguing with you if useless. It's not useful to pick on the kid in the special class. I'm not arguing with you. I'm providing your a stage to embarrass yourself on. Russia has had ABYSMAL performance against the Ukrainian military as it is presently constituted.. Providing that smaller military with even more advanced weapons isn't going to do anything other than make them more able. It doesn't have to mystically win any battles. All it has to do is make the job that Russians have been consistently failing at, even harder to succeed at. It will do so.
1
@kresbes7240 mmmmhmm It appears that Ukraine disagrees with you on every single thing you said. They keep asking for those things that you say are useless. They keep thanking us for those things you say they don't need. Hell even the Russians keep complaining about those things you say won't bother them. In short every single goddamn thing you said is decried as absolute bullshit by either the people using it, or the people it's being used on or both. That's a gold medal of wrong
1
Cool story. Only they haven't. All y'all keep telling us how Russia has everything under control and can do whatever they want, why is it this was supposed to be over in days and it's taking months to still not be able to be successful? You were incapable of defeating a nation 1/6 your size who is the next door neighbor. NATO has increased by two countries, two countries that never had any desire to prior to this It has taken 20 years of solid effort for us to fail as hard as you managed to accomplish in less than 6 months. Congrats?
1
Tell me you're a 12-year-old without telling me you're 12-year-old. Go back to playing with your robot toys kiddo.
1
....um. My dude. Do you know what an AAV is ? And who has them?
