And that's because you're a shitty human being. No one should kill you for that. But no one should put you in control of everyone else's living arrangements either. You can just keep existing as a shitty human being while the rest of us make a better world around you.

It's easier to not have humans you consider refuse fill the streets when you have concentration camps to put them in.
4
This is the BEST comment ever.
3
@treyshaffer Obviously hasn't.
3
That's what taxes are for.
3
Not unless they're forced. You actually can leverage the greed of developers against them. But what is required of politicians that are willing to bargain hard, drive hard deals and make demands. Greed is a powerful motivation, But it's a weakness too. The land remains valuable, and if you won't meet the city at its demands will then someone else is going to make the money. That kind of attitude, as supposed to subservient cock gobbling that most municipal politicians regardless of party pursue, really can and has succeeded in winning some very valuable development out of the greed of business.
2
Amazingly enough you can do more than one thing at a time.
2
4-month-old sock puppet account.
2
There is a huge component of racism and classism built into the construction of highways that is different in both countries, that you are ignoring when you try to make it sound as if there is a good comparison between the two.
2
Source?
2
Most human beings live in cities and the amount of human beings by both number and percentage, that live in cities is increasing. The trend is towards greater urbanization not less.
2
@danielkelly2210 It's a two-week old sock puppet account with a obvious stock photo image.
2
Agreed
2
It's making sure people aren't limited to being over charged for space they don't need. That's one of the definitions of cheaper
2
You've never been to Africa, much less Nigeria much less Lagos
2
Die mad about it. His channel is a strong channel and a growing one and there's not a goddamn thing you could do about it.
2
@besmith89 only you're not. You're the one who came on here whining about it. I'm just laughing at how pointless and helpless you are about it.
2
As a Norwegian it's hard for you to praise s lot of things about your country everyone else loves. (I'll take Tromsø,pls)
2
The issues in the United States are not created by a lack of money, but a lack of money being applied to them. They have absolutely nothing to do with the relatively small amount of money being pushed Ukraine's way.
2
@walawala-fo7ds funny, TSPLOST passed twice in Georgia in the last 4 years. I guess people actually don't mind paying for infrastructure improvement.
2
@walawala-fo7ds you enjoy being wrong with a passion that's really amazing to watch.
2
It's broke.
1
Using zero as a goal gives you an impetus to get closer to it no matter how few people die.
1
I love brutalism. Miami-Dade community College (now Miami University) is a wonderful example, at their Kendall campus.
1
Found the coward
1
Too goddamn bad. We are coming anyway.
1
In the United States it seems that we We spl it cities from states. Atlanta is not the south, Miami is not Florida etc etc.
1
Tell me you didn't watch the video without telling me you didn't watch the video.
1
You could just unsubscribe and stop coming to this channel?
1
But since he is not a god king and neither are you, he at least understands that you have to build political will and introduce gradual transitions. You don't, but then again you probably don't understand a lot of things.
1
@darthmaul216 he's an idiot with a desperate need for contrarian attention. They don't change much and they don't have much to change.
1
@JustANervousWreck It's a particular kind of troll and bigot. They get off on cosplaying tucker carlson "I'm just asking questions." Because They are certain that reveals them to be some kind of rhetorical genius. Imagine the really poorly raised, lonely kid in the back of the class holding his finger right next to somebody and whatever somebody says "they're touching me" They start screaming how they aren't and think that's the coolest thing in the world. It's basically that only older.
1
If you're pissing off the 4chan race trolls, you're doing something right. Love the channel and appreciate the work, thanks for the book selections.
1
Source?
1
I wasn't asking you, I was asking the original poster what was his source for that statement
1
If you are so bad at math that you think 5 minutes of a 17-minute video is 90%, You need to get off of City planning and start watching Khan academy at a very low level. You have bigger issues to work on.
1
It slows development. He actually states this at around 8:30.
1
@mukrifachri I look forward to the day when I can put my actual eyes on some Japanese cities as opposed to just reading about them. Thanks for the insight.
1
@mukrifachri Such as (the other problem?) Thankfully I am relatively blessed to know a couple of Japanese speakers as either primary or secondary languages to travel with. It's more a matter of fundings, time off and the minor hiccup of a pandemic. Heh.
1
@mukrifachri "not enough young population" yeah that's huge one and not just for them, though as I understand it, they have it worse than anyone else.
1
But you got to admit social democracy is pretty cool.
1
If all you do is go to city channels to complain about how you want to live a rural lifestyle, you're just a troll. This channel holds nothing for you other than as an attempt to fill whatever emptiness is inside of you that you have to go online to get negative attention, rather than finding it positively anywhere else. Suburbs as they are and were originally designed, are a fucking cancer as an objective fact. The owner of this channel talks about the engineering involved in ameliorating some of that. If that's not your thing, maybe you should go develop a thing. Elsewhere. Or don't. Keep being the kid that acts out in class for whatever attention he's not getting at home.
1
Oh don't think that at all. About 49% of the population is JUST like you.
1
Credible sources for any of this?
1
Yeah you've never been to Detroit or Stockton have you?
1
@joez.2794 It would appear the people that hate children the most would be the ones asking to ride a bike in the area most likely to get them killed on one.
1
Those aren't cheap (look at the Atlanta debacle over Northside drive for the stadium crossover) utilization is lower than street level crossing, and the roads itself are an increase environmental and safety hazard.
1
No. We are coming for them, and we out number you. You will grow older and older increasingly surrounded by people who do not look like you, do not act like you and encroach on your fantasy world of a blandly similar life.
1
You're a gay Democrat in this post, looking to buy a home. You were a farmer a few posts down. How many other people are you going to pretend to be in one comments section? Individual housing will always be the premium item with the premium price in any market. THAT SAID any city that buys into the cycle of fellating every developer that wants to throw up blocks of luxury condos is inviting cancer into their urban core.
1
@RyanRuark Then buy one. You just might not be able to afford one in Portland.
1
It is and they kill a lot of folks.
1
The only people who say what you say are people who have never been to Europe.
1
Speaking of somebody who was born, raised and grew up in Miami all of this shit will evaporate the minute something like hurricane Andrew happens.
1
Hey, I found the la pen groupie! 😒
1
What's your plan for handling the mass starvation that almost immediately happens? Considering that truck drivers represent the overwhelming amount of logistical support in the United States, you want to have a fascinating answer for how you chuck them and keep the country functioning.
1
@LowJSamuel population density along most of the coasts of the planet to include the Western world are in excess of what could be grown locally. You're bad at math and less educated than that on epidemiology, food sourcing or even something as simple as understanding the population has grown over time. The tremendous and nuanced reform and change that has to take place in the food system has no place for simplistic statements such as yours.
1
Only communism is communism and generally speaking even communism isn't what most people think is communism. And zoning definitely isn't communism.
1
.... And that's why you ate all those lead paint chips.
1
No one is banning access to food. They're banning access to people using drive-throughs. There are other ways to eat.
1
@Jmack1lla a drive-thru is a method for a fast food company to maximize profits. Nothing is preventing a fast food restaurant.
1
@zorn2425 he's just the sensitive type. Ignore him
1
That will require for somebody to love you in the first place, and we all know that's not happening. If you're going to come up with a hypothetical at least try to ground it in reality. You don't need to go over the speed limit to get your real doll some batteries.
1
@RyanRuark they're farmers right? They'd make more money than they were taxed back on carbon credits.
1
Question.. how does that not result in the wealthy just shoving people out to the perimeter? We're seeing that in Atlanta. There's a lot of drive to own inside the city as it improves.
1
@AlexCab_49 Def agreed on the last part. I hear about what you're saying as far as remote work, but here in Atl, is a reverse dynamic. No one with money who's not a maga-at (or a Atlanta retireee burnt out on city life. 🤣) wants to live in Ga, but EVERYONE is moving to Metro Atlanta.
1
You obviously haven't been to Washington, A traffic choke city sitting in a swamp is not what anyone wants for a capital.
1
Griefers, incels, trolls, trumpets, conspiracy theorists and the rest of the contrarian trash of the internet.
1
"There's no correlation between speed and accidents"The NTSA says otherwise and they're simply more credible than you ever will be.
1
@walawala-fo7ds you really aren't. TSPLOST Style plans come out to about a penny increase on sales &or gas.
1
@Coffeepanda294 I haven't looked at it like that, I'll give it a shot.
1
There are so few deserving people who will get cancer. It's nice to have met you and know at least one person will.
1
@AC-im4hi It IS a horrible thing. And lots of horrible things happen to really good people. And someday hopefully it'll happen to you, and you're not a good person. Therefore it will be just for once I said what I said.
1
@AC-im4hi I said. What I said.
1
Kind of awesome to be listening to this while I'm walking on the beltline and hearing you talk about it
1
There's no venue in which walkabilty and transit are inherently bad. At all.
1
Welcome to boomers.
1
@tohim7678 well, go.
1
@spacetoast7783 he just wants a legitimized way to be given a government check, do nothing to earn it and then blame everyone else. Which he will then go ahead and transfer on to everyone who is poor.
1
How would you know anything about a place you've never been?.
1
You were never subscribed. You do know your subscription list is visible as are all the videos you commented on the past, or the absence thereof right?
1
How does it feel to be terrified of everybody all the time?
1
Because it costs money to build houses. However you choose to phrase it, there is an actual investment in energy time and materials in building a structure and maintaining it. Where do you feel that will come from without someone to build it, somebody to maintain it, someone to create the materials it's made from. You can be socialist and still have to accept that things have a cost and that we need to meet those costs by some kind of structured plan.
