.... You know the last two times we fought a large state actor We were using something more like the M27 than the SAW, right? I am old and out and have my suspicions of the m27 as well, but the Marines that belong to my guys that are still in seem to fucking love them, and I've got all the faith in the world in those kids.

@freedomsglory1 Yeah, and? I mean there's better and best tools out there. What exactly is your point? You made an attempt at a point of us switching to near peer potential combatants, and I pointed out that a similar weapon system was used as part of defeating two of them.

@freedomsglory1 yeah, we've used belt fed for decades.... We haven't fought a near peer since the 1940s and haven't fought a set piece battle except desert storm since Korea. So you've got WWII and Korea as major non insurgencies. Both fought with non belt fed weapons in the squad automatic weapon role. So again, your first point was about transitioning from a belt fed weapon to a magazine fed weapon as we transition from an insurgency to possible near peer combatants. You're jumping from "point" to point to point. I'm not. You set the first goal post. I'm not moving off that.

Never had either problem. Same gun club. Not saying it didn't happen to you, shit goes weird but seriously, we were still running the 590 when I came to the Fleet and the 1014 when I got done and as much as I love the Mossberg, The Benelli was better. 🤷🏽‍♂️
