  5. On the one hand, I don't want anyone to be deprived of a sense of positivity about themselves. But man there is so much to be proud of and thankful for in Filipino American culture that doesn't require you to be happy about war crimes being committed on your country of origin. And I don't just mean the Philippines. Filipino Americans in particular as a discrete group have an incredible history that I as somebody who is not a very admirative of. 👍🏽

  10. Well for one, I've traveled enough to see how much of the rest of the world has their own shames and horrors, either right now or in their pasts. And for two, I'm not, except when I am. I am proud of the accomplishments of the take great, and the endurance if the truly suffering. And I loathe the rest. There's two USA's. One I love and am very proud to have been a part of, be a part of. And the other is shit, actively so, and often is not only a part of the problem, but actually IS the problem.
